A favorite restaurant of many Monticello Real Estate agents is the New World Bistro Bar located in Albany's newly revitalized Delaware Avenue neighborhood.

New World Bistro Bar is an 80-seat gastro pup located in a cozy building, where the food is fresh and creative, and the staff is friendly and nurturing.  New World Bistro is situated in a building from 1910, and has features such as exposed brick, black pipe, and plaster.  The Art Deco mahogany bar is originally from the 1939 World’s Fair.

Recently, Alexander Monticello met with Ric Orlando, Managing Consultant/Executive Chef, and Annette Nanes, co-owner to talk about what makes New World Bistro tick.  You can watch the video below.

Ric is one of the Hudson Valley’s best known chefs and is always working to improve farm to table associations. His enthusiasm for local, sustainable ingredients translates to delicious, spirited cuisine with bright and comfortable flavors from around the globe.

Annette co-owns New World with Scott Meyer, and they are long time Capital Region residents and support many local arts endeavors.  After owning the Spectrum Theatres for over 25 years,  they saw a need for a compatible restaurant with a comfortable and casual atmosphere, serving creative cuisine.  Having been long time fans of Woodstock restaurateur, Chef Ric Orlando, they formed a partnership to create New World Bistro Bar.

Ric explains that, "You can come in here and do six courses and buy the best wines. Or you can come in here and have a noodle bowl or a hamburger or a great salad. The idea that we've had is to have local food, clean food, and also share the ethnic and global diversity of people, creating an environment where everyone is welcome." Annette adds that this what they call "global comfort food - food that makes you happy."'
